Overall, how was your trip?

If you have never been there, there is no way of preparing for the impact of being there. The untouched, natural beauty, the mighty icebergs, the silliness of the penguins. You will be spending hours just sitting in one spot adoring the view. Also don't forget: this is not a luxury cruise, this is an expedition.

In one sentence, what did you think of Antarctica? Did it live up to your expectations?

Above and beyond expectations.

Would you visit again?

Maybe

You chose a/an Onto the Antarctic Ice experience. How was that experience?

It was the perfect choice. For the price we paid we definitely feel the trip delivered. You always have to remember: mother nature is in charge. Yes, there might be excursions they have to scrap because high winds or whatever. You have to go with the flow. The crew was professional and made sure we were always informed, well prepared and well educated before every excursion.

If Swoop arranged some of your travel before/after your voyage. How did we do?

Swoop arranged for a one day trip to Colonia, Uruguay from Buenos Aires. It was done very well, including transfer from accommodation to port, lunch, tour guide, etc.

How were your experiences on the zodiac excursions and shore landings?

Excursions were the highlights of the trip. I can't point a finger to any of them saying that one was the best. They were all fantastic! As I mention, the staff was professional on any level, could not wished for more or better. Glad we were on a smaller ship with only around 120 guests so we never felt overcrowded on any of the shore landings. You could feel close to nature all the time.

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?

Go with the ship operator recommended by Swoop!

Anything else? Tell us anything you’d like to share that we forgot to ask! It’s ok to leave this empty too :-)

Thank you for the wonderful experience!
